I'm no expert, but I would recommend not giving up on finding love until you are no longer physically able to pursue it, and maybe not even then. I had a friend who was dying in a nursing home at 38 years old. When I would visit her, she'd tell me of her plans to marry one of the assistants there. I always wondered in the back of my mind how that was going to be possible, but she kept hope alive until the end. Finding some unmentionables among her things after she passed led me to believe that she and he had a lil sum going on. Maybe it's time for a different approach to dating instead.

One of my patients is SO FASCINATING! Because she’s getting older, her son now brings her for appointments and he tells us a new story about their family every time. The more I learn about her, the more I love her.

This woman had a whole career while raising six kids who all went on to attend prestigious HBCU’s and PWI’s. We’re talking Hampton, Howard, Cornell and Hopkins. Talk about Black Excellence.
