Prior to the new year, we mentioned that Blkem will be undergoing a rebrand due to the shortfalls we have been facing, since launch.

This rebrand will temporarily divert its current focus to a reality that can be scalable, and ultimately benefit the initial goal of why we launched Blkem.

This approach is necessary to keep our vision alive in the foreseeable future.

Blkem have came a long way trying to bridge the gap in online economics and ownership within our community. In almost 4 years, we have not even begin to put a dent in this arena and the giants continue to dominate. No returns are coming back to our community and the cycle continues. We want the problems to disappear but we're not repairing the foundations that can help contain, if not alleviate these issues.

For the cousins who continue to support Blkem during this struggle, it's heavily appreciated, from the bottom of our heats.

It's the end of 2023 and all this new year new me b.s., please stop lol you're the same person and going into 2024 is no different. We're going to continue to see the same issues, new issues and problems arise in the world. Things that you would expect...so BE EXPECTED

Change happens ONLY if you want it. So here's what we can all change, going into the new year...

1. Show more love to each other
2. Small issues, don't sweat it
3. Be self-less in these times of selfishness
4. Be thy brother's and sister's keeper

It's been a minute since we pushed a Blkem update.

Here's what to expect in the New Year!

As you know, we worked really really hard to reach many of our inactive cousins and pushing them to come back to Blkem. We have tried various advertising, collaborations, and lives..but unfortunately, they were all unsuccessful.

So...we have to look at other avenues "economically", in order to continue to sustain Blkem for the foreseeable future.

As with other Black Owned SNs, the struggle have always been getting the community onboard with Black Empowerment, and...that have produced more downfalls. So..another approach is necessary to refocus on the priority, while minimizing the fall.

1. We will be improving aesthetics
2. We will be improving features, especially Blocks
3. We will be improving functions such as photo upload issues, loading issues etc
4. We will possibly be rebranding Blkem and adding ease to certain limitations.

Timeline Interaction and Ads

The goal of "The Hall" (public timeline) is to give everyone the ability to interact with each other so that there will be no shortage of conversations.

Be warned..if you're just logging in to blurt an ad and leave without interacting with other users, your ad will be removed..as T.I. would say...EXPEDITIOUSLY!

We have been seeing an increased in users just logging in to blurt an ad, then leaving just to return another time to blurt same or different ad.

Please utilize the timeline for what it was made for...to interact and have conversations.

Please update your Blkem app so that you can have the latest version of Blocks.

We have made a few updates and fixes so older versions of Blocks may not work correctly.

One update we added: You’re able to listen to a Block while scrolling the timeline and a few other sections of the app.

App Update Corner

We just pushed an App Store update and it is currently in review. If you have TestFlight, then you can use the new version 2.0.5 (55) until the App Store is approved.

Here's what's fixed:

[Fixed] GIF issues
[Fixed] Blurt Char limit
[Fixed] Message Char limit

Android users:

We fixed the media upload issue for newer Android versions and uploaded but Play Store rejected the app yesterday, so we're are responding to the rejection.
