Oh okay! thanks Mims for your concern, but I’m fine engaging on this thread for now. I don’t know Kemet, but I simply thought the blurt / pov was interesting! Her take didn’t really bother me, it just forced me to identify exactly where my own stance was on the matter.

I wasn’t really trying to, nor do I have a need to, change her mind. I just appreciated the alternative POV/expansion of thought and I wanted to share my own take. That’s all.

If the conversation ends up crossing any unreasonable boundaries I’ll just end it or disengage. Thank you! 😊

Hmmm. I can def see what you’re saying here. Which is probably why we need even more black-owned establishments & businesses.

I agree with you that black-owned still somewhat resides within the overall economy that still supports systemic racism & oppression. I also think supporting black-owned & banding together helps lengthen the amount of time a dollar remains within the black community. And to me, for now, that’s still progress.

What about Black countries, like Zimbabwe, who bank with Black Banks in their country, like the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe? Does their Black Owned mean nothing?
