Good morning cousins, hope you all are doing well…it’s hump day and closer to the weekend. Been working 18 hour days since Monday..so 2 more to go but I want to say thank you for keeping the timeline somewhat active as I know y’all don’t have to.

We sent out another mass email about 3 days ago and it seems like only a handful came back online so it’s very difficult to get our people active again 🥲but..we are still working on solutions and some of them took us a minute to think about it such as: Tik Tok lives on topics that would generate a conversation revolving around the Black community and solutions for the community. Solutions that Blkem is bringing to the table.

We have had people signed up after that but we have to continue to be a bit more aggressive in marketing and outreach.

So bear with us as we try new ways to let people know about Blkem and the goals we are trying to accomplish.

They do for sure. I think I works best if part of a community or get work published individually or have built some acclaim.

hahahah I’m in the Netherlands so similar here but diff!! governing bodies like the EU & UN keep implementing new laws and rules and also raising the penalties so I’ll never be out of a job 🤣

Physically: Philanthropy and being good at it where it’s meaningful and not just a paycheck like these corporations do

Mentally: I’m trying to get my bi-lingual skills going and peace of mind.

Emotionally: Learning how to connect to people in their time of need.

inspired by @askalicia what are some skills you're trying to learn?

For me physically: it's the way of the sword, dancing kompa and rock climbing.

for me mentally: learn kreyol(creole)

for me emotionally/mentally: to express myself more openly instead of keeping inside.

I’m confused by what you mean by this. Def be aware of your surroundings, but in general Hawaii is safe

I will say tourism to Hawaii is actually highly discouraged rn though. The natives & locals are suffering & being stripped of resources becuz tourism is being prioritized

This is the last week till I go into the final month of a 3 month fitness program. I gotta finish strong

lol this is gonna sound very #LLCBlkem , but let’s do a challenge!

Post ONE thing (sm/med baby step) you want to accomplish this week. Then tackle it.

It can be as small as going for a walk. Doesn’t matter.

We’ll celebrate everyone’s wins on Tuesday 4/11. #WhatsThe411

We will be pilot launching Safe Zone Mobile in collaboration with New Era Detroit at the end of April. Going to see how effective it is in Detroit first before we go national.

Human trafficking is a horrific crime that victimizes children, women, and men of every age, gender, ethnicity, and culture in almost every part of the world.

This illegal business is modern-day slavery and it generates an annual revenue of $150 billion dollars. Most of that revenue is made from sex trafficking.

40% of victims of human trafficking in the United States are African Americans.

Therapy is a tool to help, and depending how someone uses that resources, like other tools and resources, depends how useful it is. Not sure if everyone should, but it is certainly something everyone should consider and educate themselves on to determine if it will help

Cousins,

We understand that Blkem is not like discord as we are still building a foundation. We thought that some of our cousins would understand this, but it appears not.

Discord is NOT Black-owned. It is owned by Stanislav Vishnevsky. If you're going there because Blkem does not have voice or video chat, that's understandable.

If I discuss some things with moderators and I did not disrespect or spread lies, then the conversation should be between us and not for folks to go on discord and tarnish or undermine Blkem's shortfalls....

Yeah, from when we first got here, a lot has improved, and I can wait for all that right now

whoever it is , y’all lame asf for that . This man doing he can so we can laugh for hours on this app. that’s what I be saying when it comes to black ppl. some of y’all just never satisfied n entitled cause of these other apps. y’all feel like that THEN GO! DONT HAVE TO BE HERE!

We’re glad you all understand building something for us takes time due to the shortfalls we have to endure.

And y’all sticking it out with us is why we are putting in the extra work.

I think we still have some leftovers hahaha but thank you!

the progress this app has made in the 9 days I’ve been here is top tier honestly, leave it to black people to get it right. have you slept at all Unc? do I need to make you a plate?? @Blkem

ANARCHY We see that you returned to the platform and you're online. I was hoping that you would reach out first, and be the bigger man, but you haven't. So our DMs are open. What are you waiting on? Let's have a conversation, the right way.

Then whatever you find out, you can take it back to your group on the outside.

The positive energy that we see in here is amazing. I know that there are going to be bad days, but nothing we can't bounce back from. If we do or say anything to piss y'all off, let's talk about it and see how we can correct ourselves.

Hating on anyone will not take us thus far and any reason to give the "watchers" that, will be enough for them to come and dismantle what we have going.

People don't want to see us coming together in a positive light and that has been a trend for decades.

If we could sit through decades of IG, FB, and Twitter going down, lagging, and glitching, we can be patient while this app makes the technical fixes that it needs to make.

In this case..we have to. We have to make sure that those with influence, are FOR the Black community and the positive progression of it and not just puppets to a hidden master.
