My pcp sent me to the hospital recently to get a Vitamin K shot. They made me wait an hour and a half in the waiting room. The guy on duty told me that they were swamped with COVID patients and they had run out of beds and had patients in the hallways.
When I finally got upstairs, I passed empty room after room on that floor. WHen they settled me in a chair in the hallway, I was near 1 woman on a cot who was on her phone. I asked her if she was going to be okay. She said, I just hurt my foot, I'm just waiting for my ride home. That was the extent of their "beds lined up in the hallways"!
