Another installment of 90s rnb/hip hop songs and music videos that were heavy leaning in the gothic aesthetic. This time we'll look into TLC's No scrubs and talk about how this video is very EBM/cyber goth visually and could've been a way young black goths could get interested, introduced to, or inspired to join the gothic scene in an unusual way.

this is the first music video i'm going to discuss and dissect in my series of 90s hip hop/rnb videos that were goth inclined. i discuss why i feel this falls into a gothic category, the impact it had pre internet on me and possibly other black people who were starting to find the goth subculture....and also provide visuals of how it could be a gateway to the subbculture for others.

Ppl making edibles out of everything. Don't nobody want no "weed cornbread" ??

this has been a long time coming. i've been revolving around how growing up pre internet pre words and language and culture there was influence that brought me to the goth culture as an isolated and uneducated black youth in a family and area that was far from sub counter anything.

the 90s rnb and hip hop world had a moment in time that was very in all purposes dark gothic and creepy but never connected to the culuture. this is a first video to talk about the topic.

let's get this theme going! coming into goth doesn't just show up in one way!!!
