Although I haven’t been blurting much, I’m still here…lurking like some of y’all do..lol
@VadaBee had brought up some good points regarding engagement and interactions on the timeline. We all know that there’s a lack of it even though we have a lot of cousins that’s signed up.

Some cousins had given a few solutions and those were taken into consideration. We have tried different ways to increase engagement but as you see, many don’t care for it. Three years later and it’s the same thing…folks get excited for a hot second, then leave, then forget. Since there’s hardly any drama on here, folks don’t want any part of it.

It’s the same issue that other Black owned networks exclusive to us, experience..even before we launched Blkem. And it’s the issue that many continue to see.

Sooo…we’re going back to the drawing board and revisit some of the points made by some of you. We’re also going to look at alternatives.

Exclusivity should increase interactions but when you have many that don’t care for it or they would be involved, then we have to figure out if we’ll be able to continue this trend for another 3 years.

Compromising is not the goal so if anyone have some unorthodox solutions, send me a DM.

We have not added the ability to share Block on timeline.

***In the meantime, before you start a Block, create a blurt (post) and let others know you’re about to start a Block.

When you start a Block, there’s no indication that would alert users that you have started one. Also, if you are in a Block, there’s no audible alert that notifies you when someone pulled up.

Lastly, when you’re finish with a Block, please click the Block menu and close it, so it’s not lingering in the list.

Please continue to spread the word so that people are aware, especially new users.

1. If you're using the website, you can see everyone's blurts (posts) on the website by opening or going to the side menu, and clicking on "Explore".

2. If you're using the iOS or Android mobile apps, you can see everyone's blurts by going to the top of the home screen and clicking on "The Hall" tab.

3. If you want to start a Block (audio chat), it can only be done on the mobile app. At the bottom of the app screen, click the middle icon that looks like four squares.

4. If you want to utilize the premium services, you have to subscribe via the mobile app. Once you do, you can utilize those services on the website.

5. If you are in the Detroit, MI area, we launched Safezone Mobile [SZM] Pilot program in collaboration with New Era Detroit. It's a Safety and Security Initiative to help curb crime in a section of Detroit. This program will run for approximately 1 or 2 years. Please reach out to us if you have any additional questions.

Welcome back...there are accounts that haven't been active since 2020 and are taking up too much space on the server. We have sent out numerous amounts of notifications regarding inactive accounts months ago with little to no response and we still haven't removed any accounts until today..when about 300 accounts returned with error messages.

If we're struggling to do our part in positive progression for the Black community, then we're just going to have to find other ways to get out the struggle.

Blkem has taken on an identify of its own and is no way a Black Twitter copycat.

What is your solution to bringing people back on the platform, who have been away for over 3 years?
