I understand and you don’t have to detach. I guess all Black Owned platforms are just asking people to give the same energy as you would to non-Black owned because those other platforms ain’t doing nothing for the community. Appreciate you!!
I totally get it it’s just so hard to detach from the platforms when everyone you know or want to connect with uses them. That’s still no excuse to continue to show love to black owned platforms though. We appreciate your hard work💯✊🏾

Greetings cousins,
After months of deliberation, we have FINALLY deleted our Twitter account. This was the ultimate goal when we launched Blkem..to make a progressive space for the community, and remove any connections to negative influence and the absence of community building from these other platforms. This would have been the same for Instagram, but they prematurely, removed our account over 1 year ago, for no apparent reason.
We started this process by removing any OTP login/sign up with FB, Google, and Twitter. So cousins can no longer use these accounts to log into Blkem. Now, we are removing our existence from their platforms.
For 3 years we tried utilizing our accounts on those platforms to spread the word about Blkem and for 3 years, we have encountered many push backs from people in our community...."So why are you here using Twitter", "I'd rather stay using Twitter and Instagram", "We can always find a loop hole to their shadow banning", "I'll just report these racists", etc etc etc....People that would rather endure the negative energy towards us on platforms that do not care about us. Platforms that do no penalize racist accounts. Platforms that limit Black content so other content can thrive.
We had many people join Blkem in those 3 years but we also had many that went back to business as usual. The same thing we see in society today. Many are so unserious about actual community change.
Even though we deleted our account, it's not a failure on our side but it's a way to show you all that we are true and transparent to our word and essential Black Owned entities is where we need to be to remove the dependency.
For those who still utilize these platforms, continue to spread the word about Blkem and we will be doing the same through other means.

It never surprises us when influential organizations and/or movements become exposed and more often than not, they expose themselves. Ethics and moral codes become invisible.
We can only guess BLM intentions since inception but throughout the years, it's apparent that diversion was inevitable.
Their mission statement which was suppose to cover police brutality, ending of white supremacy etc.barely tapped into the real deep rooted issues in the community as we would have likely seen the impact.
Dr. Khalid would be thoroughly disgusted at how cowardice & compromise has overcome they Liberation movement?#NAPP
