Facts and if people really look at this perspective, they’d take better care of it for the next generation.

So you’re planning on staying out there or moving back?

It’s been a year and a half since I moved to the Middle East and I’m still not used to getting up for work on Sundays. It still doesn’t feel right

Totally agree...we need to start working together and put that competitive spirit against each other to rest. Blkem brought a solution to the table but we're facing difficulties with our partners.

Hello cousins,

I haven't been on much lately due to conflicts in where I want to take Blkem. It has been really a challenging process and still continues to be. After 4 years and finally launching a Safety App for the community, there's the behind the scenes issues that you do not see, especially when you're supposed to be in a partnership with other Black-Owned entities. It seems like BOEs rather take the glory than share the glory to help the masses. I ain't cut out that way!

I am a huge advocate for collaboration, HONEST work, and helping people and communities in need. Once people move the goalpost, I tend to distance myself because I don't want my noble ethics be tainted with immoral constructs that involves greed.

While I pride myself in launching such a platform for the community, the support is not there and that burden becomes heavier and heavier each year. From what I have seen since launch, Black Empowerment is only exciting as long as it's beneficial and if there's work that needs to be done, many people walk away without even trying. As a really really good friend told me a month ago.."I spent over 4 years trying to do my part in saving the Black community, now it is time to save yourself and then circle back".

The conflict that I have been dealing with is staying the course, or switching direction that ultimately leads me back to Black Empowerment focused strategies.

I am not saying that this is the end all for Blkem...i'm just saying that I have to refocus my prioritizes before dialing back.

Hope you all understand!

*** On other notes, I have one fun project (a Blkem bae inspired project) that I am working on NOT connected to Blkem and possibly starting another that will be connected to Blkem, in a way.

Greetings,

Thank you and I appreciate you. Launching a program like this takes a lot, especially when it's independent of support. The few that have been supporting, even since 2020, I will always be indebted to them.

Here's my honest opinion since we launched this platform in 2020. We currently have over 14k users on the platform and only a handful can be seen interacting on the timeline. Other programs are successful because they have a financial backing and support of people that can invest money into them. They're also not exclusive.

Our community runs on emotion and that's when you'll see loads of support. Once those emotions fade, support is gone until the next emotional activity. People in our community fall short on promises. They ask for Black exclusive platforms but then fail to support, even use such platforms. Just ask most independent Black-Owned platforms. I have connected with CEOs of other BOPs and it's the same issue they're facing.

I have spent almost 4 years trying to honestly do my minuscule part in progressing the community, and while it was very rewarding see those who truly appreciate it, it's also very disheartening seeing the majority that don't. Even when I launched a safety application called Safezone Mobile.

I used to build based on what people want, now....that direction has to change because when they want, they then fall short of supporting.

Your program is good, I congratulate you on it. But is it possible to launch another program that is similar to Tik Tok so that there is the possibility of live broadcasting so that we can discuss it in a live broadcast and we can publish videos in

I'm seeing everything except 2024 movie drops....wah going on? Anyways..this is awesome and good to see that you're excited!! Cheers to a successful 2024!

Yo, march came through like a bullet train it was SO busy. I’m so happy I get to finally catch my breath in April.

Some highlights though: led a four part marketing series, was a live speaker at a marketing conference for two sessions, read tarot for SoFi Stadium / YouTube Theater which was a pretty big deal, and announced the CEO deck product launchβ€” which y’all already know about!

It took EVERY OUNCE OF STRENGTH for me to make it through this month, and I am BEYOND f*ckin proud of myself.

It seems like everyone got super busy and rarely uses the website anymore. We're gonna have to switch gears soon.

Had a powerful moment recently w/ artist Gary Tyler hearing his story & meanings behind his quilts.

Gary was wrongfully convicted of murder in Louisiana at age 16, sentenced to Death Row & remained in prison for 42years.

His quilts include self-portraits, frustration when his pardon was first rejected, addt’l snapshots from prison & other stories he wanted to share.

Gary Tyler was finally released in 2016 at age 57. I was so sad and ANGRY but Gary was so calm and peaceful. β€œDon’t be sad, this is a celebration!” He said. β€œI understand it now. It humbled me but they couldn’t break me”
